Privacy policy

What we collect when you buy a stack or support us, why we hold it, and how to have it removed.

Who we are

StackSmith publishes self-hosted deployment kits. This policy covers stacksmith.io and any purchase or contribution made through it.

What we collect

  • Email address - to send your download link and receipt, and to reply if you contact support.
  • Order details - which kit and tier you bought, the amount, the date, and whether the delivery email was sent.
  • Payment confirmation - a reference to the payment from our payment processor, and the card brand and last four digits if they pass them to us. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Basic technical data - standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) kept for security and troubleshooting.

What we do not collect

We do not store card numbers, security codes, or bank credentials. Card details go directly to the payment processor. We do not sell, rent or trade your data, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site.

Why we hold it

  • To deliver what you bought and to support it afterwards.
  • To meet tax and accounting obligations on the sale.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse.

Who else sees it

  • The payment processor - to take the payment and confirm it succeeded.
  • Our email provider - to send the download link.
  • Our hosting provider - where the site and order records run.

Each of these processes data only to provide their service to us.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as needed for accounting and tax purposes, then deleted. Server logs are rotated and discarded. You can ask us to delete your email address and any data not required for accounting at any time.

Your choices

Email privacy@stacksmith.io to request a copy of what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We reply within a few business days.

Cookies
