- Role: API client
- A fast, browser-based API client. Send requests, inspect responses and save collections without installing anything.

### usebruno/bruno
- Licence: MIT
- Role: Git-friendly API client
- Collections live as plain files in your repo, so requests sit in git next to the code they test.

### mockoon/mockoon
- Licence: MIT
- Role: Local mock API
- Spin up a mock API in seconds from a desktop app or the CLI. Ideal when the backend does not exist yet.

### wiremock/wiremock
- Licence: Apache-2.0
- Role: HTTP mock server for tests
- The standard for HTTP mocking. Stub requests, simulate latency and faults, and assert what your code sent.

### mock-server/mockserver
- Licence: Apache-2.0
- Role: Programmable mock and proxy
- Record real traffic, replay it, and verify interactions. Useful for testing clients against a captured API.

### stoplightio/prism

- Role: Spec-driven mock and validation
- Runs a mock straight from your OpenAPI document and validates requests and responses against the spec.

### traefik/traefik

- Role: Dynamic reverse proxy
